Winery label design upgrade, packaging design and development.
Soreq Winery, founded by the Shaham family in 1994, is a boutique operation of 35,000 bottles a year. In addition, the winery operates Israel’s leading winemaking program, where the students gain hands-on experience right from the beginning.
The information on the labels had to be effective and include everything about the varietal, in addition, the type of winemaking style, vintages, varietals. The label had to be simplistic in its design and maintain a serious look and feel. The wine will sell in the off-trade only, and not be available in wine stores.
What’s Unique?
We required a label with a simplistic and elegant label to balance off the huge amount of text. In addition, it had to incorporate the message of a school or learning institution whilst looking elegant and expensive. As a result, we designed a wrap-around label to facilitate information, yet maintain a classic appearance. The large area of bronze embossing on the logo represents the natural art of winemaking and the soil of the vines.
The second challenge was creating labels that looked almost the same, the slight element of distinction indicating the ageing and the non-aging wines. We achieved this by adding a delicate blind embossing stamp on the ageing wines only. This worked well, without distracting from the main design.
